When we bought this house, we always had a room in mind for the boys to be able to play in. They are finally getting to that age where they would enjoy the game room I have set up. The room we have set up for them now is out on the sun room. All their toys and stuff are pretty much put away in containers. They are much more preoccupied with all those games on Xbox 360 now. I can’t even remember the last time I saw them touch the toys. This got me thinking that they could really use a cool room that they and their friends can hang out in. I have a room set up with a pool table and a dart board now that I sometimes will hang out in. I have no problem at all setting this up to be kid-friendly. A buddy of mine even told me he would sell me one of his arcade machines that he has in his basement. He said he never has time to play them and would be glad to sell me something cheaply that my boys would enjoy. I’m thinking that I’m going to get a bar stool or two and flank the room with them. That way if the boys have friends over and are playing pool or what have you, those not playing can sit on the stools. It’s a funny moment for me to realize my kids are growing up so fast. Hopefully they won’t think they are too old to have a good time with dear old Dad or else I will be banished from the game room. |
